Day 94 - Woss - Sayward

Thankfully I had a much better night with no urgent bathroom trips required. Feeling slightly more human, I checked out of the motel and finally rolled away from Woss. I’d managed to book into a proper campsite for the evening which was only a fairly easy ride straight down the highway. However, to add in some variety and avoid the busy road, I opted for the service roads which ran parallel to, or occasionally crossed, the highway. These were pretty deserted other than the odd logging truck which thundered past in a cloud of dust.

I got about halfway through the day until the service road I’d been following suddenly became blocked and completely impassable. Without the energy or inclination to try and plot an alternative, I opted to return to the highway and plod along the shoulder towards Sayward. I pulled into the gas station for some drinks and snacks before heading over the highway to the campsite where I was greeted by the really friendly owners who sorted me a pitch and some coins for the laundry. With the tent up and my clean clothes laid out across the picnic table to dry I walked back across the highway for some dinner. The food was ‘rustic’ but I was mainly trying to just get calories in by any means.

Unfortunately, that effort was fairly short-lived as once again I had a severely disrupted night with frequent trips to the toilet block. Any other campers who heard the constant zipping and unzipping of my tent must have wondered what on earth was going on. Sitting alone in a remote campsite toilet block at 3am you do start to question the life decisions which have led to this moment.
