Day 74 - Hazelton - Little Fish Lake Rec Site

Opted to take back roads for the next stretch heading north. I rolled out of Hazelton and was quickly in the small village of Kispiox where I stopped to look at the amazing collection of Totem Polls grouped on the edge of the village. A large and vocal collection of dogs took an interest in me as I left but was very relieved to see they were all chained up.

From there it was onto the dirt roads and a really quiet stretch as I followed the Kispiox River north. Onto a smaller service road and then I was soon at the rec site I’d planned to camp at. Nice site of the lakefront - which lived up to its name of containing hundreds of little fish.

By this point the wind was starting to pick up and it looked as though a storm was coming. Just about got the tent up in time before the rain came and spent an hour or so napping as it blew over. Had a dry spell long enough to make some dinner before the rain returned and continued throughout the night.

A couple of cars came through to have a look but clearly weren’t keen so I’d have the place to myself - probably the most remote camp spot I’d had since being in the US.
