Day 17 - Grants - Chaco Trade Centre
Out in good time but I knew the route would be largely into a headwind along straight desert roads so motivation wasn’t at an all time high. But rode into it as the day progressed and felt better pushing a little harder. Not too much of note at the roadside - cue some thoughts that I should have gone the other way.
I knew the Jeep crew were out in front but I didn't catch them until we were nearly at the destination for the day - a shop/laundrette that lets bikers camp outside. Very nice people, if not the most scenic place to spend a night. It was the first time I’ve camped with the other guys so it was nice to chat a bit more. They all hate Trump and Tom is a big John Prine fan.
The main positive from the day is that the tyre seems to be holding air normally again after my morning job cleaning the valve core. So at least one worry allayed for now. Looking forward to getting back off road and into the mountains.
