Day 79 - Stewart - Meziadin Junction
I’d been debating how to break up the next phase, as however I did it required retracing my steps. I wasn’t thrilled at the prospect of another night at the work camp but the alternative to make sure I was clear of the problematic bears would be about an 85 mile day which I didn’t particularly want to do - or need to do as I was now well ahead of schedule.
So I decided to just bite the bullet and pay for another night at the camp. This meant there was no need to rush leaving Stewart and I could take my time on the ride up. Feeling obliged to take the same pictures of Bear Glacier as I had on the way down.
Back at the camp I got a slightly warmer welcome than the last time - maybe I was on my way to be considered a regular. It’s a comfortable enough place but two nights is enough. It must be a pretty bleak place for the people spending weeks or months working up here.
Watched some more trash on YouTube including a documentary about UFOs. It might be time to get back to reality…
