Poor sleep again due to jet lag, lying awake frustrated from 4am. I took the bike out for spin, firstly up the coast to Mission Beach and then down to Point Loma and the Cabrillo National Monument - commemorating the first landing of Europeans on the west coast. Good to get out and see some nice bits of the city. The bike infrastructure is surprisingly good and drivers seem pretty accommodating, which is a nice surprise. Had a brief chat with a fellow cyclist who asked if I was French, it seems the Americans have an interesting comprehension of accents. 

 

Lazy afternoon getting things washed and packed up. Looking forward to hitting the road as it feels like I’ve been in SD and this hotel long enough. Went out for a pizza which was a bit much but useful carb intake.
