Day 8 - Burnt Corral Campground - Globe

Finished the Apache Trail with spectacular views of the Roosevelt Dam. I knew it was going to be a shorter day so I pushed on along a fairly uneventful highway to try to make it to Globe in decent time. Nothing much to report until I reached the outskirts of town when the road became extremely busy with negligent or downright hostile drivers - felt pretty uneasy about being on that road. Stayed in another RV park and the guy was friendly and helped me find the best spot available.

Globe itself had quite a nice Main Street with some bars and restaurants. Ate in an Asian place and had an enormous plate of fried rice which was very welcome. Despite the hostile roads, the people of Globe itself were very friendly. Downside of an early finish meaning I had three beers and felt each of them during the night and a bit in the morning. Not sure this level of physical activity is doing much for alcoholic tolerance.
